God is One God
|
| |
-
He eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
-
Each is essentially equal in holiness, wisdom, power, and goodness.
-
He revealed Himself in this manner so that finite man might understand the fullness of His infinite nature.
|
|
God the Father is the First Person of the Divine Godhead
|
| |
-
He is the divine Architect of the universe.
-
He so "loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son" to die on the cross for our sins (Jn 3.16).
-
He earnestly looks and longs to be gracious to you; He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you - to show lovingkindness to you (Isa. 30.18).
-
All of the blessings and promises that are manifested in Christ and bestowed by the Spirit flow from the heart of our heavenly Father.
|
|
God the Son is the Second Person of the Divine Godhead
|
| |
-
He is God come in the flesh.
-
He is fully God and fully man.
-
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless perfect life.
-
He bled and died on the cross to pay for our sin and to redeem us from the slave market of sin.
-
In Him our sins are forgiven.
-
On the third day after His crucifixion Jesus bodily arose from the dead. He later physically appeared to the apostles and more than 500 witnesses.
-
He ascended back into heaven to take His rightful place at Father's right hand. As our High Priest He is interceding on our behalf.

|
God the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Divine Godhead
|
| |
-
He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and the judgment to come (Jn 16.8-11).
-
He, at the moment of our salvation: (a) Regenerates the believer into a new creature in Christ (2Cor 5.17;Titus 3.5); (b) Seals and baptizes them in Christ (1Cor 12.13;Eph 1.13b); (c) Guarantees our inheritance (Eph 1.14a); (d) Comes to live in us and remain with us forever (Jn 14.14,16).
-
He is the Comforter Whom the Father sent in Jesus' name to teach us all things and cause us to remember everything that Jesus taught (Jn 14.26;16.7).
-
He endows every believer with at least one spiritual gift that is to be used to edify and build up the body of Christ.

The Bible
|
| |
-
In its original manuscripts is the verbally inspired, inerrant word of God.
-
The Holy Spirit moved upon the original authors to reveal the mind and heart of God and His plan for mankind.
-
Since God reveals Himself in concrete ways, it must be interpreted literally.
-
"Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2Tim 3.16-17;Amp).

Salvation is a Free Gift of God's Grace
|
| |
-
We are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus (Eph. 2.8-9).
-
One is spiritually born-again when they confess their sins before God, ask Christ to wash them clean with His blood and to forgive them for their sins, and accept Him as their personal Savior.
-
Then, God the Father: (a) Declares them innocent of all charges - making them eternally justified; (b) Imputes the righteousness of Christ to their account, which places them in right standing with God - making them eternally righteous; (c) Separates them unto Himself and places them on the path of holiness that leads to holiness - making them eternally sanctified.
-
Salvation delivers the believer from the penalty sin, the power of sin, and eventually, the very presence of sin.

Sanctification is a Free Gift of God's Grace
|
| |
-
Holiness is only accomplished through the power of the Holy Spirit.
-
In the mind of God, the saints of Christ are eternally sanctified at the time of their salvation. However, we must also learn how to live out salvation in our lifetime.
-
We cannot work our way into a holy life because sanctification does not come through self-effort or by engaging in "Christian activities." We mature in sanctification through the power outflowing from the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
-
After three days in the tomb, Jesus arose from the dead, thereby breaking the power of sin and death, and being reconciled to Him we are daily delivered from the power of sin (Rom 5.1-10).
-
The Spirit helps us to develop the ability to live by faith, hope, and love.
